A TREATMENT FOR THE WHOLE BODY

At Ponteland Chiropractic, we understand that sciatica can be a debilitating condition affecting your quality of life. Our approach to sciatica treatment and chiropractic care is comprehensive, targeting not only the symptoms but also the root causes of your discomfort. Chiropractic is a regulated primary healthcare profession, and our qualified chiropractors are trained to diagnose, treat and manage disorders of the musculoskeletal system, which includes bones, joints, and muscles, as well as the effects these disorders can have on the nervous system and overall health.

While we are widely recognised for treating back and neck pain, our expertise extends to a variety of conditions such as shoulder and hip pain, making us an excellent choice for athletes seeking to recover from injuries or enhance their performance. Using a range of techniques, we aim to reduce pain, improve function, and increase mobility. Our treatment plans are personalised, ensuring that we cater to each client's unique needs and preferences. This includes hands-on manipulation of the spine, mobilisation, soft tissue work, acupuncture, and tailored exercises, along with advice on self-management.

INITIAL CONSULTATION £65

(£55 for students/u18s and over 65s)

Your first session with the chiropractor includes a consultation and, if appropriate, treatment. Before this, you must complete an intake form, which will be emailed to you after booking or can be filled out in person if you arrive early—treatment cannot begin without it.

The consultation lasts up to an hour and includes a discussion of your pain, medical history, and a physical examination. Your chiropractor will explain your condition and treatment options, and if suitable, treatment may begin after consent is given.

Treatment that works

CHIROPRACTIC CARE FOR YOUR NEEDS

At Ponteland Chiropractic, our treatment plans are not one-size-fits-all. We collaborate with you to design a package of care that meets your specific needs and preferences. Our treatment may involve various techniques, including:

  • Mobilisation: Slow, controlled movements applied to the spine, which can enhance range of motion and relieve pain.
  • Manipulation: A quick, gentle force applied to a joint that may produce a "pop" or "crack," helping to increase mobility and reduce discomfort.
  • Massage: A combination of techniques targeting soft tissue and muscular contributors to pain and dysfunction.

You may wonder if these techniques will hurt. Generally, mobilisation and manipulation are well-tolerated, although the affected area may be tender to touch. Massage techniques can occasionally cause temporary soreness, but should not be painful. If you experience discomfort, please inform your chiropractor, who can adjust their approach accordingly.
